Item:  Portrait of a Black Lady

Price:  $150.00

Description:
The artist created a really well done portrait of a black lady's head showing her hair pulled back in a bun at her neck base. The pencil drawing shows a lady in 3/4 profile looking to the viewers left and the facial features are well executed. The entire image is very 50s and certainly appealing. This lady has really expressive eyes and the artist did a good job in capturing personality.

Item:  Munster Cathedral by Paul Gessler

Price:  $175.00

Description:
During the early part of the 20th century, numerous artists lived and worked in Europe making images of Cathedrals, especially famous ones. The town and other buildings, are well depicted and architecturally detailed. This image no doubt was changed by the wars and this is a view of a town with no cars or modern telephone wires or poles. The cathedral spire is very well shown and you can almost make out the stained glass patterns in the window on the side. This is an engraving and signed lower right by the artist.

Item:  William Abrams Drawing, Aged 101 Years, 1843

Price:  $375.00

Description:
A wonderful portrait of William Abrams, Born Jan. 16th, 1742 and died Sept. 27, 1843, Aged 101 Years, 8 Months and 11 Days. An interesting folk art piece showing Mr. Abrams seated in a chair with an early 19th century cravat treatment and coat buttoned at his chest. This is a form seen in the Northeastern US and very seldom seen in other parts of the country. At some point, this was framed in an old Victorian leaf cornered walnut frame, and we have taken it out, cleaned the image and placed it in an acid free environment. For an early American folk art lover, this would be wonderful.

Item:  Late 19th Century Victorian Folk Art Portrait of a Young Lady

Price:  $150.00

Description:
The lady shown here appears to be both a drawing and watercolor. The hair is woven into a braid across the top of her head and the lace collar around her neck is one of Victorian time period. The design of the dark border around her shoulders and upper bodice is one of about 1885 and the painting could date to either way about 10 years. The oval format is interesting and the original tin frame is stippled to resemble grain painting or Mahogany. Minor scratches to the surface of the frame but for a piece that is close to 100 years of age, this is definitely a winning piece. And the lady is attractive as well.

Item:  Luigi Wasimir, Tyrol, Engraving

Price:  $550.00

Description:
Originally purchased in New York, this still bears the framers label and notation of Artists Proof on the backing. The name Luigi Wasimir may be slightly off by a letter, but it is a really good city view of a European scene and the town is covered in snow. The winter cold is just penetrating, and the detail is exquisite. There is no sign of life with people, but the image is quite arresting and the bare tree in the foreground really does bring out the coldness and the shudders that you can almost feel.
