Title: Cloisonne Vase

Description

Cloisonne is one of the favorites of collectors. This vase has a fish scale pattern on the base with an oriental motif of a variation on Greek Key and a yellow floral blossom in the middle of blue/green leaves, and a blue/purple flower blossom in the middle of green leaves. There are no major damages to the surface, the only things that are visible are firing tiny fractures from a fusion of the enamel to the brass sometimes called pin points but these are to be expected. 99% of the vases seen today are modern reproductions, this is certainly not in that category and the detail work is simply hard to imagine.

Title: Cherry Blossom Cloisonne Vase

Description

Cloisonne remains today one of collectors favorites and this vase certainly does exemplify some well executed details of cherry blossoms on a new budding tree. The vivid yellow base area against the blue fish scale design makes for an attractive appearance and the feeling is one of spring and rebirth. The condition is excellent and the only surface inclusions seem to be from firing with tiny pin explosions that result when the emanels are fired to the high temperature. No chips or cracking in the surface. The appearance of this is very colorful and light in feeling.

Title: Victorian Toddy Warmer

Description

Today, we view Toddy Warmers with an air of sophistication and the debonair flair for entertainment. Years ago, these were essential to warming beverages before a long winter's nap. The houses had no central heat, and very much needed all the warming drinks you could consume. This elegant Victorian piece has four delicately flared feet and glass panels that are both blue/green in color. The handle is intact. The only missing part is the top of the burner in the base. Even the original brass top remains. When viewing the feet of this, they almost resemble a pointed toe of a woman's shoe.

Title: 19th Century Brass Trivet

Description

19th Century Brass Trivet, four turned legs with small ball feet, the top features a pair of interlocking squares with a smaller square in the center. The structure is sturdy and the trivet would easily hold a large pot for heating purposes. The base is marked W. T. & S with a star above and was purchased years ago by a collector on a trip to England. Fireplaces add a touch of warmth to our home interiors and this certainly would be an appealing addition to a collector.

Title: 19th Century Brass Candlesticks

Description

Approximately 125 years plus or minus in age, these nice brass candlesticks are the authentic stick from which most of the modern copies try to emulate. One of the sticks retain their original push up that was used to keep the rooms lit, as the candle burned lower in the evening, it was raised in the socket to increase the height of the light. The diamond panels on the top are worn from old polishing and the pair stand perfectly flat on a surface and are ready to use in a modern home. Priced as the pair.

Description

Single brass candlestick, wouldnt you like to know the history this has witnessed? Being replaced by electricity, seeing telephones, computers and now digital coming in, seeing cars replace horses, all sorts of 20th century ideas.
