	Description The coldness of winter is felt in this Russian image of two travelers in a sleigh with a single horse pulling them along a figure along the road stops with his hat off in his right hand perhaps asking for assistance. The bare birch trees simply make the cold more painful and the color of the sky makes one hope for spring. This was purchased in Maine where there is a large Russian community and the age is uncertain but would appear from style and subject to be in mid 20th century. The colorful decoration on the back of the sleigh adds a nice touch.

This has the 84 marking and the markings all in Old Russian style of lettering.
