| Description | This portrait of a bearded gentleman has been cleaned and rebacked with microcrystalline wax. The condition is excellent. The artist C. Philipp has a notation that I assume means is From Photo but actually says Fr. Phot. The skin tones are good and the costume well executed. The oil on canvas painting has been cleaned and is in excellent condition. This is a very Victorian appearing painting and the gentleman is a pleasant sort of chap. |
